A trip I went Sigiriya

💫 Sigiriya was one of the main places we visited on our excursion last year.Sigiriya is located in Matale District.It is made on top of a huge rock.Many people visit Sigiriya,because it is famous in many ways.
                                                                                               This rock is built as a fortress.It was built by King Kashyapa.There are ruins of a royal place on top of the rock.This famous palace was built in the 4th century.This whole thing is a wonderful creation by man.

       There had been ponds and gardens on top of the rock.At the bottom of the rock there are beautiful and colourful paintings,of young women.These are colourful frescoes.Some call them "Sigiri Apsarawo".

         The entrance to the Sigiriya is like a lion's paws.It is carved beautifully on the rock.Sigiriya is world famous and many tourists come to see it from around the world.It is called the 8th wonder of the world.

      Sigiriya is a world heritage.It is our duty to protect it.
